Curator's Statement (Escher Tsai)
If the T.A.P. Project of NTT is indeed the setting for Plato's Allegory of the Cave, performers such as classical musicians, electronic musicians, and new media artists become creators of a virtual world constructed by technology and nature.
Audience members are free to choose a spot within the cave, immersing them- selves in the audio-visual narratives performed in the space. Alternatively, they can take on the role of philosophers seeking enlightenment, daring to venture beyond the cave's captivating interplay of light and sound, in pursuit of a deeper understanding and the perception of a more sublime reality.
Director's Statement (Keith Lam)
When Technology became part of Mother Nature, what we see may be just imply a shadow. From stepping into the nature, human constructs buildings and civilisation -This double-edged sword, would create coexistence and co-prosperity on one side, at the same time the army of opposition. We are all the co-creators of this virtual world, are we liberating the slaves on the planet, or creating a giant shadow and eliminating ourselves?
